Location
Located near Algeria and Libya, Tunisia is situated in Northern Africa covering an area of 163, 610 square kilometers. The capital is named Tunis and current population is approximately 11 million.
The country is a melting pot of different cultures like Arab, Jewish and European descent. The country also has a fair share of ethnic groups found in sparse nooks.
Climate
Generally has three climates – Mediterranean, Semi- Arid and Desertic Climate. Tunisia is best visited during spring months which is in between March and June.
Statistically, the northern part of the country is the best travelled because of its dry and hot climate especially during summer.
Transportation
Selected countries need not obtain visa when visiting the country. It is best to know first if the origin country of the traveler belongs to the list of non visa territories otherwise obtaining at least three months visa is a must.
The country’s main international airport is Tunis – Carthage International Airport near the city capital Tunis. Tunisia can also be reached by boat through its neighboring countries such as Malta, France and Italy.
What to See
Ruins of Carthage
A UNESCO heritage site, Carthage was built in 9th century BC that served as a trading empire during the early times.
Founded by Phoenicians, this spot was a witness for several events in the history as it was once one of the most powerful cities of the ancient world.

Sidi Bou Said
Pristine in its white color and blue color, the village boasts a phenomenal view of Mediterranean Sea from the cliff.
Move around the town to appreciate the craftsmanship and artistry being shown in every inch of this amazing site.

Grand Erg Oriental
This humongous erg covers the southern part of Tunisia extending until Nigeria. The sand mountain is perfect for enjoying the sand dunes or even appreciating the beauty of dusk and the spectacular wonder of sunset.
The sand mountain is truly a magnificent place to be in whether it’s for relaxation and/or pleasure combined.

El Djem Amphiteatre
Another UNESCO heritage site, this astounding edifice is another evidence of Roman Empire’s reign during the ancient times.
Today, the striking remains serve as a venue to Tunisia’s special occasions and concerts.
