When you hate the rush of the metropolis, pay this place a visit that you would remember for the longest time.

Covering a small but wonderful tract of land measuring at 43 square kilometers, Ubud is lying inset of Bali, Indonesia together with other points of attraction. With almost 70,000 inhabitants and the rich culture that this little town possess, it is no wonder why so many people dropped by here as a side trip to Indonesia’s capital city Bali.
It is being circled by other infamous such as Tegallalang and Payangan areas on its northern end, Sukawati pinned on the south, Tampaksiring bordering its’ northeastern wing and the Badung Regency on its west.
Climate
With Ubud’s heavenly location inside the Bali Indonesian Island, the town enjoys cooler and less humid temperatures as compared to its neighboring cities. Ubud’s elevation at 200 meters above sea level had given the place a colder vibe which is suited in preserving the calm and collected aura that this small town beholds.
Be prepared as well to experience the heat of the sun during middays and afternoons as Ubud’s general temperature can delve on the extremes of being too hot and being too cold. The months of January until February is not the best months to visit this hilly side of Indonesia as strong rains with high levels of precipitation is to be expected. Hottest temperatures are set at 33 degrees on the months of October and November while you can experience a 19 degrees classification on July to August.
Transportation

One of the main modes of transportation that you can use in Ubud, and in general Indonesia, is called bemos. At a fee, you can definitely try this local method and be in touch with Ubud inhabitants if traveling from mainland Bali to Ubud. Just be sure to keep track of time as bemos are said to start their operations during the wee hours of the morning until 4PM each day.
With Ubud’s small scope of land, public buses are not yet being circulated around town. However, there are a lot of ways for you to scan all possible corners of this cultural place. The use of travel services such as Perama is offering direct transfers from Ngurah Rai International Airport straight to the heart of Ubud daily for a fee. You can also lean onto renting vans and cars for your own convenience from Bali and bring it to Ubud.
Other feasible option that you might want to try is to ask the place by where you’re staying if they have a vehicle that you can rent while you’re there. This is a very common gesture in Ubud so there’s no need for you to be hesitant in asking. Rented bicycles and motorcycles are also up as your choice if you want to slash off some spending for your transport needs.
What to See
Museum Rudana
Created by a couple who valued art as if their life depends on it, this three-floored museum is home to 400 traditional paintings as far back as the 1840s.
Nyoman Rudana and Ni Wayan Olasthini made sure that the museum would be well-kept and preserved.

Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
Rooting from their religious beliefs, this sacred place for worship formally called Mandala Wisata Wanara Wana is comprised of three holy temples and grey-haired long-tailed Balinese macaques.
While there are a lot of monkeys circling the whole complex, it is a mortal sin to feed them.

Agung Rai Museum of Art
This well-maintained complex is a treat for art savvy travelers as this is the only place in Bali where you can witness ghastly works by well-known German artist Walter Spies.
The complex is inset with a couple of traditional buildings, manicured gardens with a relaxing stream of water flowing through it.

Pura Taman Saraswati
Honoring the goddess of wisdom and arts Dewi Saraswati, this sacred religious dwelling features a picturesque landscape of lavish lotus blossoms afloat the big pond in the building’s facade.
Be entertained with regular dance performances at night showcasing Ubud’s tapestry of history and witness painters with easels proving the Ubud is Indonesia’s rightful art and culture capital.

Botanic Garden Ubud
With six blossoming hectares of land that’s crowded with nothing but the most luscious greens and color-decked flowers, the Ubud Botanic Garden is a sight that you shouldn’t ever miss.
