Location

The Republic of San Marino is a microstate located in the Italian peninsula.

The fact that it’s being surrounded by another independent state like Italy didn’t diminish the actuality that it is an independent state that runs its own government and serves as a home for about 32,000 dwellers.

The size is approximately 24 square kilometers and considered to be Europe’s third smallest state. Small as it is but the country is also listed as one of the world’s richest countries.

Climate

San Marino has a Mediterranean climate. With this being said, we can expect that the climate is generally warm and temperate.

July is considered to be the driest month while January happens to be the country’s coldest. August is the warmest that has an averaging temperature of 24.2 Celsius.

Transportation

This country does not have its own airport and train stations. The most common way of getting to San Marino is through Rimini, a city found in Italy.

Tourists can ride a plane landing to either Rimini, Bologna, Forli or Ancona. From these destinations, travelers ride a bus or drive a car to reach San Marino.

There shouldn’t be any hassle because just like any other European territories, this tiny country is not particular when it comes to border controls.
