After being stained from the advent of drug abuse and other petty crimes, many have thought that El Salvador’s La Libertad won’t be able to bounce back.
But after the relentless help of the government and the resiliency found in the locals of this municipality, the beautiful port area of La Libertad is now slowly climbing back to being one of the country’s prime travel destinations.
Now that security is bound and locked, more and more tourists are now trying their luck to feel the cheery vibe and alluring dazzle of the beach when sunlight touches it.

(3)
With hard work and cooperation from everybody, tourists can now visit this place without any worries—be entitled to sit on newly-opened cafeterias, bountiful restaurants with the freshest produce and be scalded by the sun’s rays as you stay outside for unlimited swimming.
La Libertad, considering its sensitive past, is now stronger and far more gorgeous, waiting for everyone to come and enjoy its surreal characteristics for summer vacation

Location

(5)
Covering a total land area of 638.2 square miles including the general urban vicinity, La Libertad is now home to a whopping population of 747,662 citizens and is subdivided into 22 separate municipalities.
Facing the glorious sea, La Libertad is located in the northeast side of El Salvador and is slightly elevated from the rest of the country at 30 meters above sea level.
Climate

(6)
One of the many reasons why La Libertad is such a haven for sea addicts is due to the fact that it’s under the desert climate class, according to Koppen.
This simply means that throughout the whole the year, the chance of experiencing rainfall is slim to none.
The months of February and March are deemed to be the hottest, recording a temperature of 27-28-degrees Celsius.
On the other hand, August is said to be the coolest month of all with a median temperature of 22.1-degrees Celsius. This can be lower depending on how much heat was lost during the summer season.
Ironically, February is also considered to be the wettest month, accumulating 51 millimeters of rainfall if there would be instances of showers. The annual measurement of La Libertad’s average temperature is at 24.2-degrees Celsius, just enough for a pleasurable swim at the beach.
Transportation

(7)
Technically, there’s no way for you to enter La Libertad directly from any domestic or international flights. Just like any beachfront municipalities, every tourist would start their journey at El Salvador’s main international airport and take it from there.
From the airport, there are many taxis that you can hire, but it is suggested that you go for scheduled van trips and coast shuttles to La Libertad to avoid a hefty fee.
If you want to save money, you can ride the public buses en route to the municipality, but you must ensure that you’re prepped for a long trip that is only available during day time. Take note of specific bus routes such as Trip 102, which will transport you to the nearest terminal to La Libertad.
Once inside the realms of this magical place, you can easily scan for travel spots and nearby places of interest just by merely walking, or by renting a bicycle if available.
What to See
Parque Nacional Walter T Deininger

(8)
Spanning a humongous land area of 18 kilometers of trail, the Parque Nacional Walter T Deininger is a gem that’s perched within the realms of La Libertad.
Named after Walter Deininger, this wondrous feat of natural preservation is home to caducifolio and galeria, which are typically two different types of rain forests. Unleash the outdoor buff in you as you weave along towering flora and the Earth creaking beneath you as you walk.
Playa San Diego

(9)
If you wish to embody a whole-day swimming extravaganza, then head straight to Playa San Diego and quench your thirst with one heck of an experience.
Playa San Diego is popular for its clear beaches and powdery shores together with the strings of restaurants that will feed you with plates of shrimps, live catch and hotel-style food.
Iglesia

(10)
Known to be the only place of worship that can be found near the beach, Iglesia is something that you shouldn’t miss if you want to have a peaceful moment amid all the fun outside.
Though not decrepit, Iglesia somewhat resembles a normal home with a towering fence, and despite its simplistic facade, it is not hard to see as more tourists pay their respects to this home of faith and religion.
