Alacati, Turkey’s seaside allure

More than the prestige of Bodrum, Turkey has more to boast including the unsung Alacati. Starting out as a town known as a turf of windsurfers, this place is gaining popularity due to its beautiful transformation as characterized by stone houses and fine cuisine that are truly irresistible for vacationers in and out of Turkey.

As the rustic village blends well with the charm of waves adorning the ocean situated nearby, Alacati is definitely a great place to visit on your next vacation.

Location

Found in Cesme, Alacati is located in Izmir’s west coast.

The town may be considered tiny, but vacationers will fall in love with the place as it offers different forms of recreation: from the beautiful sight of the village’s stone structure to the beach and various restaurants situated around it.

Climate

It is highly suggested to travel to Alacati between the months of April to October as these are charted to have an average weather suitable for strolling around and lingering at the beach.

Note that the warmest temperatures occur in June, July and August. You might want to bring your most comfortable clothes during these months to combat the heat. The coolest month would be January.

Transportation

With either Cesme or Ilica as the starting point, the easiest way to get to Alacati is by riding a bus. There are abundant numbers of transport buses that pass through the town, usually running between intervals of 30 minutes to an hour.

Lying around 8 kilometers from Cesme, those who would come with their own car can alternatively drive through the 0-31 toll-road.

Alacati is dotted with restaurants that would definitely satisfy your hungry stomach should you be tired of walking around town. Café Agrilia is one of the oldest food corners here serving cuisines inspired by the fusion of Italian and Mediterranean palettes.

Popularly known as a surfing destination, people flock to Alacati to play with the waves with their surf boards.

Beginners do not need to worry as there are surfing classes offered here. A one-day class can range from ''120 to ''500. Other water activities are also available such as paddling and wakeboarding.

Nightlife

The beach life is almost never complete without the presence of pubs and bars. The fun and the chance of mingling with other guests of the town are the reasons why the night in Alacati should be experienced at least once.
