Location

Transportation
The most convenient way to visit this place would be by train. Those who travel via air can book a flight to nearby cities and ride a train to Appenzell.

Appenzellerbahn is the major private train company that operates in the city. Famous routes are from Gossau and Saint Gallen, which will take about 40 minutes of travel time.
Attractions
Santis Summit
This highest peak of the Alpstein mountain range gives a good view of the surrounding nature together with a view of six neighboring countries: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France, and Italy.

There are cable cars that provide tourists with the opportunity to explore the beautiful surroundings from above. Aside from that, the peak also became an ideal place for a weather station.
Ebenalp with “Wildkirchli”
Ebenalp is the highest peak at the northern part of the Apenzell Alps. This area gives a panoramic view of the rolling hills as well as the mountain ridges abundantly found within the region.

On the other hand, Wildkirchi will provide you with a trip to the past as it grants information about remnants of the old inhabitants who lived there some 40,000 years ago.
Landlerfest
Music lovers will definitely enjoy Landlerfest. This is the annual gathering to celebrate folk music as performed by folk singers and dancers.

Sing and jive with the performers as the music produced here is usually the culmination of different sounds from violin, cello and double bass.
