Brasilia is the capital of Brazil, it is situated in the heart and Federal District of the country. It is the home to almost 3 million inhabitants.

It has an area of more than 5,800 square kilometers and it is surrounded by the state of Goiás. Brasilia is 570 miles away from the north western part of Rio de Janeiro. This city is linked with the coast by the rail and road.

Climate

Brasilia has a Tropical Savannah Climate. The extreme temperatures in Brasilia can hit 17°C as the average lows and 28°C for the highs, but it can get as low as 1°C during the winter season and hot as 34°C throughout the summer and dry season during the months of August to October.

These months are the best time to visit Brasilia because the city is blessed with a gorgeous sunset with a great shade of pink, red and orange.

The main airport in Brasilia is the Brasília–Presidente Juscelino Kubitschek International Airport. It is the airport that serves Brazil since the year 1999. It is located in the Lago Sul which the administrative region of the Federal which is 11 km away from the heart of the city.

This airport caters all the domestic and international flights, there are daily flights from other European countries like Paris, Lisbon, Lima and Bogotá, also in Miami, Panama City Montervideo and Atlanta.

This is a well-known steel bridge that links the eastern shore to the center of the city, through its Monumental Axis.

This bridge is the symbol of Brasilia because of its very unique and distinctive silhouette.

Lake Paranoá

This is an artificial lake located in Brasilia. It has a circumference of 80 km, and on its shores are establishments like Embassies and Consulates, Restaurants, Sports Club, the residential areas of Lago Sul and Lago Norte, the University of Brasília, the Olympic Center, and the Palácio da Alvorada, and it is also the place of the official residence of the President of Brazil.

This Cathedral is also known as the “Metropolitan Cathedral of Our Lady of Aparecida,” it is a Roman Catholic Cathedral serving Brasilia, and serves as the Archdiocese of Brasília.

This was designed by the well-known, Oscar Niemever and was completed during the year 1970. The cathedral has a hyperboloid structure constructed from 16 concrete columns, and weighing 90 tons each.
