The city is part of the Timis region in Romania. Timisoara has been one of the focal points of the historical Banat and has played major part especially during its golden age.

The metro is one of the major industrial hubs in the country and is found at coordinates 45.75 latitude and 21.23 longitude with an elevation of 96 meters above sea level.

The city has a climate that is categorized as Marine West Coast Climate. It is suggested to come here during the months of May until September because these have average temperatures. 

Statistically, August is considered to be the warmest month, whereas January is listed to be the coolest. Meanwhile, July is the wettest and February is the driest.

The nearest airport to the city is called Traian Vuia International Airport, which is 10 kilometers away. From here, taking a bus or arranging airport transfers can be made in order to reach the city proper.

Aside from travelling via air, the city can also be reached by international tourists via trains that pass through international cities like Budapest, Vienna and Munich.

Built in 1754, this structure is one of the major emblems of the city. Influenced by Baroque design, the grand edifice served as the home of leaders during the old age.

The modifications made to maintain the palace somewhat diminished the baroque element and are apparent especially on its interiors.

If there’s one thing Timisoara can boast about, it is the recollection and conservation of its past. As a matter of fact, the city hosts a number of museums that are worth visiting.

There’s the Memorial Museum dedicated to the 1989 Revolution during the downfall of the communist system. On the other hand, Banat Museum hosts cultural evolution and memoirs of the past.

The 6.74 hectare zoo serves as a home for more than 30 species. The zoo was opened to the public in 1986 and has experienced several modifications especially on its organizational structure.
