Location

Ruse is a northeastern city in Bulgaria. This is the fifth biggest city in the country and plays an important role when it comes to trade and commerce.

This is because of the fact that Ruse is situated on the highest bank of Danube River that why there is no surprising that Bulgaria’s valuable port is located in here.

Climate

Ruse falls under the category of places that possess continental climate. Being close to the river, winters in this place can be windy and relatively cold. Summers on the other hand can be very hot.

The average temperature during this season would play at around 25 degree Celsius. Driest month would be March while most precipitation occurs every June.

July is considered as the wettest month and January being the coldest.

Transportation

The city can be reached via air from the nearest airport located in Bucharest. Other routes would be taking either Sofia or Varna airport.

Travelers do not need to worry because the city is well developed when it comes to the field of transportation.

There are railroads connecting to key cities like of Budapest, Kyiv, Moscow, Athens and Istanbul. Taking a bus or through a cruise are other ways of getting here.

Attractions

Building of the tax administration

This beautiful structure serves as the center of the symbol of the city. It was founded in 1902. The beautifully made facade made it one of the major tourist attractions in whole Ruse.

The seven-roof statue makes this edifice, even more unique. This art shows symbols of music, agriculture, defense, arts, science and free spirit flight.

The top most part dons the emblem of commerce in the form of Mercury.

Museum of the city style of life

Also called Kaliopa House, this museum is located in a building where the Prussian consulate used to live. The museum shows the role of the city as a gateway of urban living in Bulgaria.

There are pieces of furniture and memoirs from Vienna that exhibits Vienna culture and its contribution to the Bulgarian way of living.

Park Rusenski Lom

This is a natural formation. The park consists of towering rocks and caves with lushes and greeneries around. The place serves as a house for a lot of species, both plants and animals.

Flora Rusenski Lom Park alone has 902 species on it while the fauna are the habitat for around 10 kinds of amphibians.

Some parts are UNESCO protected that’s why tourists should be extra observant when it comes to visiting the place.
