Albany is specifically located in Western Australia’s Great Southern region and is currently home to almost 31,000 inhabitants as of the last date. Known to have been settled by humans, even before nearby towns, Albany plays a relevant role in Western Australia’s culture and society building.

Perth, which is the capital city, is 418 kilometers southeast of Albany and other known landmarks surrounding this town are Mount Clarence to its eastern edge, Mount Melville to the west and the city center is said to be located at Prince Royal Harbor’s northern tip.

According to the Koppen Climate classification, Albany is under the Mediterranean climate type, which means mild and wet winters, dry summers and good to the touch autumns and springs.

Albany is also known for producing the finest wines and beverages in Western Australia and the Great Southern Distillery is said to have held some of the best.

Take a tour inside this complex while munching down on snack offerings and be oriented with how their infamous Single Malt Whiskey is produced, together with light tours on brandy, absinthe, grappe and gin making.

Dog Rock

Dog Rock is dubbed to be one of the most famous shoreline landmarks in the whole Albany due to its memorable structure and facade.

Locals strengthened the point of Dog Rock by putting a dog collar on its appropriate place as this specific rock formation resembles that of a dog’s head.

Old Farm at Strawberry Hill

Dating back its roots since 1827, the Old Farm at Strawberry Hill is being operated and owned by the government of Western Australia for proper preservation and maintenance.

Inside the farm, feast your eyes at the well-placed antiques and artifacts which is said to belong to the original owner of the property and relax your mind by just enjoying the tranquility being offered by tall shrubberies, lush greens and abundant produce.
