Kitzbuhel is within the territory of a bigger state called Tyrol in the historical country of Austria. Surrounding the town is the huge Kitzbuheler Ache River, with its middle area restricted to travel by car and other modes of transportation.

The small city of Kitzbuhel is home to numerous hot spots such as cafeterias, famous retail shops and residential developments. Kitzbuhel is slightly elevated from the rest of other Austrian towns at an estimated 762 meters above sea level.

The total land area of Kitzbuhel is at 22.40 square miles and the whole city is divided into different sub-municipalities namely Am Horn, Seereith, Sonnenhoffeld, Staudach, Obernau, Felseneck and many others.

Climate

Temperatures in Kitzbuhel have always been low. Due to the fact that its position is on the colder side of Austria, the city experiences generally milder climate with stress on being frigid.

All year long, there is observable rainfall even in the driest months. According to the Koppen Climate Classification, the average temperature in Kitzbuhel is at 7.3-degrees Celsius.

One unknown fact about Kitzbuhel is that this town is a major copper and the metal mining area where Austria harnesses most of its produce.

In the Museum Kitzbuhel, people will have the opportunity to witness how the city progressed from the place it once was during the Bronze Age until the feisty sports-induced town that it is today.

Many of the artifacts that can be found within this artsy point of interest include skiing gear with high emphasis on skiing champion Toni Sailer.

Pfarrkirche St. Andreas

Of the many sights of worship scattered all over Kitzbuhel, one of the most resounding is that of the Pfarrkirche St. Andreas.

Located above the icy town, this chapel boasts of architectural design from Gothic and Baroque styles, evident in its noticeable facade and the intrinsic detail found within its walls.

The identifying feat of this church is that of its impressive, steep and wind-shingled roof, maintained since its erection during the Olden Times.
