Nature never fails to amaze the human populace. All over this humble planet lies thousands and thousands of destinations, which would not only take your breath away, but would definitely lure you into visiting.

If you’re one of the many who finds tranquility and utter relaxation by the sound of waves, rustling trees being swayed by the sea wind or the feel of the gritty sand crunching beneath your feet, then it is inevitable that you’d daydream about going to Praslin, located in the island-dominated country of Seychelles.

Praslin would supply you with the beach-pegged vacation that you’ve been wanting for your retirement, and it is such a promising place that only the affluent have the capability to go there in a snap. Release all the city tension and work drama upon setting your sights on crystal-clear waters, towering granite rock formations and the smell of bare innocence that can only be found in Praslin.

Location

If you’d get a map and look for Praslin in it, you might have a difficult time pinpointing this patch of land as it lies in a place where the blue marks of the sea dominate. Dubbed as Seychelles’ second largest island, this can be found in the northeastern edge of the city of Mahe and measures up to 38 square kilometers in size.

As of current data, this seemingly virgin island is home to only 6,500 residents, which also shares the rich blessing of the Indian Ocean. Praslin, despite the remote location, is organized and subdivided into two administrative tracts, which are Baie Sainte Anne and Grand Anse. Anse Volbert, one small part of the island, is known as where human settlements are placed.

Climate

Similar to how Seychelles goes for its climate, the island of Praslin is under the tropical rainforest class. In an annual overview, Praslin would have more sunny days than gloomy afternoons as the island thrives on hot temperatures.

The coolest months are in July and August, which have an estimated temperature of 24-degree Celsius. If you want to experience Praslin in its most conducive form, then visit and go skinny-dipping on the months of May until November when the temperatures are suitable for outdoor activities without being over the top.

December is known to be the rainiest month with 18 days devoted to showers and rainfall. January averages whopping 15 inches of precipitation, while the driest is recorded at 2.48 inches for the month of June. The hottest temperature shoots as high as 31.4-degree Celsius.

Transportation

It is not so easy to get in and out of Praslin and you’d be left with either getting on a domestic/island flight, or succumb to the more adventurous option which is a ferry service. One noted means of coming and leaving as you want by air is to use the Praslin International Airport than can drop you off or bring you from surrounding islands such as Curieuse, La Digue, Cousin, Cousine and the Island of Arade.

You’d also be shocked that while Praslin is a little island on its own right, there are also nearby and smaller islands to go to such as the Round and Chauvre Souris Island, which are both accessible via private boat rentals.

If you’re coming in from Mahe, you can also subscribe to their bus services the likes of Mason Travels for bigger groups of tourists. Cat Cocos Ferry would then be your option if you wish to get in and out of Praslin in a more pragmatic manner.

If you want to channel you inner biologist, then heading to the Vallee de Mai would definitely put you in a state of high.

Listed as a UNESCO Heritage Site, the enchanting coco de mer plants are grown both here and just one other island in the rest of the planet. Feast your eyes and mind through a long string of indigenous flora after several hiking trails.

Anse Lazio

Dubbed to be one of the most perfect beaches in the world, the Anse Lazio, situated on Praslin’s northern edge, is like a picture plucked out of a literary soliloquy.

Dominated by thick shrubs on one side while the slapping waves saturate the other, Anse Lazio is more than just a beach, as you would also be treated with gigantic blocks of granite at its outskirts.

Grand Anse

Seemingly endless, this white-sand stretch of shore is what Grand Anse is known for. You’d be able to go swimming in the clear waters of Grand Anse and never worry about being seen as this is pretty much not as commercialized as other island beach strips.

Feel a slimy profusion of harmless algae growing profoundly on some of the beachfront strips and enjoy the heat of the sun being emanated with several trees as your roof.
