Admire Pedasi’s neat veneer with a preserved quiet demeanor

Tourism may have been deemed as the city’s development, but the impressive aspect of this inviting city is the fact that it maintained the timid and somewhat unassuming atmosphere that is only found in unspoiled locations hiding in a few remote places around the world.

The place is beautiful and the progress of tourism with the increase of its visitors didn’t overshadow the natural exterior that remained as it is from the very start.

Location

Originally known as a fishing village, this quiet little city is found on the southeastern tip of the Azuero Peninsula on the Pacific coast of Panama.

Due to its location, many fishing enthusiasts consider it a haven due to the abundance of underwater resources residing in the vast waters that surround it.

Some of the most famous species that can be caught here are marlin, yellow fin tuna and sailfish. Locals greatly depend on nature as major industries include farming and fishing.

Climate

Unlike Panama which has a substantial amount of rainfall, Pedasi uniquely possesses a dry climate since it is part of the so-called ‘arco seco’ which also means ‘dry Pacific arc.’

Those who want to come and visit the place should consider bringing lightweight clothing for temperatures at around 30 degrees Celsius on average.

This can be considered as a beautiful paradox, especially for beach bums because the hassle of rain isn’t as constant as other beach destinations.

Transportation

Getting here by air is made possible by Air Panama that offers flights on schedule. Days when airlines host flights would be on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.

If your schedule is outside the mentioned days, you may also resort to chartered flights that are always available. Buses are also alternative modes of transportation.

From Panama City, ask to be dropped off at Chitre of Las Tablas. Taking another 40-minute bus ride will then take you to Pedasi.

In Isla Iguana, living is dominated by the creatures of the wild. If you are lucky, you may even see one of the five species of turtles that visits the island once every year.

This is where turtles lay their eggs, happening between the months of November until July. The 14 kilometer long island serves as a cradle for eggs from about eight species of turtles.

Aside from seeing groups of turtles trailing the coasts here and there, the island’s opposite direction is a beach that is adorned with soft waves and fine white sands.

Tropical life is at its finest, so be hugged by the luscious pine trees and relax in the arms of a total beach setting.
