Location

The development of the city has flourished due to being close to the seas. This beautiful corner of earth can be found on the Adriatic Sea in country of Croatia. The city spans an area of about 21 square kilometers and was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The walled city is one of the most preserved in the world, which is why it is no surprise that it became part of the list and one of the most visited sites of historians and tourists alike.

Climate

Dubrovnik is blessed with beaming sunshine most of the year. The Mediterranean climate mixed with the beautiful blue waters is ideal especially for those who want a memorable vacation.

Typically, the warmest months are between July and August while most rainfall occurs between November and January.

Transportation

Since Dubrovnik is just by the sea, most people think that the easiest way to get into this city is through water. While this is possible especially for tourists coming from Rijeka, Island of Hvar and Split, the most affordable and fastest way is still by riding a plane. 18 km away from the city center is its airport.

The city can also be visited using bus lines that are connected to other cities located in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Attraction

Sponza Palace

This palace is a symbol of wealth and resilience in the city. No trader that uses boats as a mode of transportation would ever come close to Dubrovnik without passing through this palace.

The palace was able to transcend natural calamities like earthquakes and still serves as the center of history in the place.

Rector’s Palace

This palace is a combination of renaissance, gothic and baroque designs. The current form and facade is derived from numerous alterations due to damage caused by of fire, earthquake and explosives.

Today, the outstanding palace serves as a monument of history in the city through the art forms and reminders of the distinguished families that once lived in the city.

Sipan

This is an island found near Dubrovnik. This destination is a quiet escape because of the sea and luscious greenery. Found in Sipan is a small community with an unexploited environment.
