Location
Placed within Algarve region’s west coast in the country of Portugal, there is no question why Portimao owns some of the most proud beaches. Algarve as a whole is being bordered by sandy shorelines and astounding rock formations that is definitely a sight to behold.
Portimao covers approximately 182.06 square kilometer and is being known as one of the most populated towns in the district of Algarve.
Climate

Dry periods can be experienced between the months of May till September. While July is expected to be the warmest month during the entire year, it is common for the month of January to be the wettest and coolest month.
Transportation
Faro Airport serves as the start point especially for foreign travelers. From the said airport, Portimao can be reached via different options like of private car, trains and buses.
Around seven buses travel between Faro and Portimao and can take roughly two hours to complete the journey. Local trains can also be another route to consider.
The railway station is located at Portimao’s north city center.
