Plovdiv is one of Europe’s oldest cities. Its age became an advantage in acquiring different tastes of culture that either resided or came across during its long standing prime.
The city managed to transcend through time and keep up with the ever changing and fast pacing progression of the ever changing while.
Location
Located within the boundaries of Bulgaria, Plovdiv is the second largest city next to the country’s official capital Sofia. The land covers 101.98 square kilometers with roughly 400,000 populations.
Called as Trimontium during the early age and is believed to be founded in 4000 BC, Plovdiv was first a territory during the Roman Empire. It was just acquired again by Bulgaria during the reign of Khan Malamir.
Climate
The city has a humid subtropical climate. Seasons were being sectioned into four: summer, winter, autumn and spring. Summer starts mid-May and lasts mid of September.
Winter season shows the presence of snow. This occurs during the month of November till around January.
Autumn happens between the months of September till November while spring starts in the month of March.

Transportation
Via plane, the city can be reached through Krumivo airport, which is recently named as Plovdiv International Airport. The said airport hosts flights to and from London, Milan, Frankfurt and Russia.
Plovdiv can also be reached via train. International and national trains are made available in order to get to this city. Hourly trains to and from Sofia and Istanbul are the routes tourists can take as a travel option. The city also has three major bus stations named Jug, Sever and Rhodopi.

Attractions
Roman Stadium
This boasting stadium is one of the humongous structures founded in the time of ancient Rome. It was built in 2nd century AD and hosted important events all throughout the history.
The area covers approximately 240 meters long and 50 meters wide that can gather up to 30, 000 audience.

Ruins of Eumolpias
This was a settlement by different cultures dating back from 500 BC. This is a capsule of the past that reminds the ancient civilizations, including the Macedonians, Byzantines, Bulgarians and Turks.

Dzumaja Mosque
This is a religious site that is also gaining attention due to its intricate architectures and details that are captivating to the eyes of every traveler that will pay a visit.
