No trip to Singapore is complete if you don’t visit Little India

Little India will truly fascinates all your senses. It is one of the most colorful, and vibrant districts in Singapore today. As you walk down Serangoon Road and neighboring streets. Temples, Mosques and Churches are everywhere in this area.

The colors of vivid flower garlands, jeweled-hued saris, the enticing aroma of the delicious cuisine, and the lively beat of a Hindi pop-song will surely help you explore the mix of Hindu and Chinese cultures.

Location

Take the North-East MRT line to Little India Station and exit at Racecourse Road. Bugis station on the East-West line is also within walking distance.

Little India is bounded by Racecourse Road, Syed Alwi Road, and Jalan Besar in Singapore.

Climate

Singapore has a tropical climate and throughout the year it is hot and humid. The average temperature is around 31C (88F).

The hottest months are April and May, while it is somewhat cooler in the months December and January.

That’s why whatever day it is, every day is the perfect time to visit Little India.

Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple

This is Little India’s oldest and busiest Hindu temple way back in 1881 it was built by Indians pioneers who came to work and live in Singapore. It is focus on Indian Social Cultural Activities.

The temple’s door is covered with tiny bells because they are meant for the devotees before entering, for their wish or request to be granted and answered.

Mustada Centre

This 24 hour shopping mall is set in the Little India district. It offers everything from electronics to clothes, perfume, souvenirs, electronics, makeup, confectionery and even food and groceries.

Mustafa may not be as fancy as some of Singapore’s other malls, but it is the best place to go if you’re after bargain. It has a great range of items, and good prices to match.

It also offers hotel reservation and visa assistance services for foreigners, Mustafa Centre is a shopping experience shouldn’t be missed.
