Location

Known to be one of the oldest cities and Poland and is an important part of building the Polish culture, Poznan is a place that should be regarded as one of the country’s must-sees. Covering a total land and water area of almost 100 square miles, Poznan is rather one of the largest cities in Poland.
The whole area is being divided by the Warta River, which vivisects the place from north to south.
Currently, Poznan is being subdivided into five districts, which are Stare Miasto, Nowe Miasto, Jezyce, Grunwald and Wilda.
Climate

According to the Koppen Climate classification, Poznan, due to its location is in two climatic conditions which are humid continental and oceanic climate. Having two climate types, Poznan relatively is a place where snow is very common during winter.
Summers are typically warmer than the usual, which can reach as high as 30-degree Celsius in an estimate. Rainfalls are amongst one of the lowest levels in the whole of Poland with a mark of 20 inches of precipitation annually. Rainiest months are January, July and December while June and August experiences the sunniest days all throughout the year.
Transportation

One of the most common public transportation in Poznan is through highly-sophisticated tramways and bus lines for both urban and suburban use. Some of the terminals and stops that you might want to take note of are (1) Poznan Central Station which is situated on the southwest end of the city’s epicenter, (2) Poznan Wschod and (3) Poznan Garbary station which would transport you into the city’s outskirts and border places.
Expect lighter traffic in the whole of Poznan as the government is pretty much hands-on in building the most effective road schemes and placements for commuters’ convenience when traveling via road paths.
Bus lines like the Solaris Urbino bus would be circling the city and is one of the most known ways of getting around. The Poznan Lawica Airport, dubbed as one the biggest air terminals in Poland, is catering Poznan. Domestic and international flights are being serviced through here.
What to See
Museum of Applied Arts

Be mesmerized by the Museum of Applied Arts’ artifacts, which include the best of furniture, silver and gold ware, ceramics, weaponry, clocks and glassware which are all transported from the Far East and general Europe.
This eclectic museum is situated in the celebrated Poznan’s Castle.
Monument to the Victims of June 1956

This is one of the most memorable monuments in Poznan as it depicted two 20-meters tall crosses to commemorate the worker’s protests in the year of 1956.
The Monument to the Victims of June 1956 is specifically located in Plac Mickiewicza and is standing there since 1981.
Fish Sellers’ Houses

Built in the 16th century, this historic area is the former site of fish stalls and is currently one of the best spots to visit in Poznan.
The Fish Sellers’ Houses, before it was reconstructed after WWII is an array of small arcaded buildings and is situated south of Town Hall.
Town Hall

Designed and built by Italian architect Giovanni Battista in 1550, this is one of the most celebrated edifices in Poznan and is being a melting pot for visitors whenever they are in Poznan.
