Location

Spanning a total land area of 160.10 square miles, the city of Venice is one of the most visited spots in the whole of Italy. Perched nearby a humongous body of water, Venice is somewhat standing of soft ground with numerous alleys filled with running water.
As of last count, Venice is home to an estimated count of 240,000 residents and is currently governed by Luigi Brugnaro as the city mayor. Venetians have been scattered around 6 boroughs namely Cannaregio, San Polo, Dorsoduro, Santa Croce, San Marco and Castello.

Hottest months would kick in at June and can stretch up until October with a recorded high of 27.7-degrees Fahrenheit. Moving further in a year, temperatures drop to 0.6-degrees Fahrenheit when December comes and the cool weather can be enjoyed until April.
In a yearly basis, rainfall is experienced almost every month with June, ironically, as the wettest with 3.07 inches of accumulated rainfall. It has been observed that Venice accommodates 78 days of rainy days with 29.46 inches of rainfall in an annual scale.
Transportation
If you want to hover over the bricked Venetian land, you need to subscribe to the services offered by the Azienda del Consorzio Transporti Veneziano (ACTV) which is the governing firm for public transportation methods in the whole city.
If you wanted to be transported within the islands of Venice, then you can use up the numerous motorized waterbuses or locally called as Vaporetti. Train rides wouldn’t be much of a problem as Venice caters to both regional and national trains that can carry you to neighboring areas and attractions.
If you’re coming in from Rome, the travel time would be 3 ½ hours while Milan is one hour shorter, the historical city of Treviso is just roughly 35 minutes away same as Florence and Padua which are both nearby. The train system would have two stops at St. Lucia Station and the Mestre Station.

If traveling in and out via air, the aviation terminal would be at the Marco Polo International Airport or the Treviso Airport, which is further down Venice’s city center.

Rialto Market

Venice has all sorts of cathedrals and museums and it’s just refreshing for tourists to visit something out of that league. If you’re into souvenirs and the local produce then go straight to the Rialto Market to suit your craving to shop.
Standing proudly on Venice’s city center, the Rialto Market have been a blessing to Venetians seven centuries ago and is still in operations to give you the best of inky seppie, moscardini and moeche.
Haggle and have some fun while picking on the freshest items, local spices and some stuff that you can bring home that’s definitely would be reminiscent of this wonderful town.
Teatro La Fenice

Built in 1792, Teatro La Fenice is one of the most treasured points of interest in the whole of Venice. This entertainment center have been around for quite some time and have been witness to numerous acts such as Rossini and Bellini opera episodes, the sounds of esoteric musicians on the likes of Stravinsky, Prokofiev and Britten and so much more.
Refurbished after the 1996 arson, Teatro La Fenice is now shouting of avant-garde architecture and is now an architectural masterpiece to behold. Almost all year long, operas have been playing on this theater, satisfying thousands of travelers and locals like how it used to since its first play.
Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta

Aside from being a place of worship, word of mouth has heralded the Basilica di Santa Maria Assunta as a huge work of art due to the numerous pieces found beneath its walls.
Known to be the oldest Byzantine-Romanesque church in the Lagoon area of Venice, the Basilica is home to a wide stretch of mosaics that can be dated as far back as the 11th century.
