Located in St. Thomas, Charlotte Amalie (a-mall-ya) is US Virgin Islands’ capital city. Being close to the waters, the city has become one of the most visited and favorite stops of cruise ships.

The city was greatly influenced by Denmark culture as seen on Danish inspired architectures and buildings. Its duty-free policies made it more appealing, especially for shopping-inclined tourists.

Charlotte Amalie has a tropical savannah climate with dry winters. Over the course of a year, the temperature typically varies from 23°C to 32°C and is rarely below 22°C or above 34°C.

The warm season is in between the months of June till September being August is the hottest month. Cold season on the other hand happens during the months of December till March.

Because of its closeness to the water, tourists can hop pay a short visit to Charlotte Amalie via cruise ships. King Airport located at the island’s west point.

This beautiful beach is one worth travelling to. Considered as one of the most beautiful in the Caribbean, this well protected beach is near Charlotte Amalie.

The place screams nothing but of tropical feel as it is abundantly surrounded by coconut grove, mangroves and arboretum. Water activities are available as well, such as snorkeling, kayaking and paddle boating.

Fort Christian

This is the oldest structure ever built in US Virgin Islands. This fort serves as a wall and witness about the military activities and pirate presence in the city.

Built back in 1672, Fort Christian now serves an administrative house and main place of worship.

Blackbeard’s Castle

This is a watch tower was made during the 1600’s. Now serves as a resort that overlooks Charlotte Amalie, they used to be fortress managed to transform into a beautiful tourist spot that provides relaxation in a luxurious and seemingly extravagant way. Pools are made available for use while the surroundings boast the beauty of sceneries around.
