Location

The city is situated in between of France’s two other major cities, Paris and Marseille. Lyon was founded during 1BC and plays a significant role from the Renaissance era until today.

The rich history it acquired through passing time made the city to be one of the world’s center of gastronomy. Lyon measures 47.95 square kilometer and serves as the third most populous city in whole France.

Lyon seems to be a median for two climates. The city is located in between the temperate oceanic climate of the northern part of France and northern Italy’s warm continental climate.

Warmest and driest month would be during July while the coolest is December. Average temperature happens during the months of June to September.

The Saint-Exupéry Airport is the Lyon’s airport. It may not be hosting major flights yet, but the city can be reached through it from big airports like those in Paris, London, Frankfurt etc.

Fastest way to reach the city from its airport would be tram-train. There are also cabs found in terminal 1 that can bring tourists to metro stations to the city.

Within France, train is the most accessible way to reach Lyon. The city is being included in routes of both regional and national train stops by major railways.
